Progress in fluid/gravity correspondence

An important result of the AdS/CFT correspondence is a precise relationship between black hole dynamics and fluids in the hydrodynamical regime. Extending that, current research focuses on non-relativistic fluid/gravity correspondence, Lifshitz holography and holographic non-equilibrium fluid dynamics, among others. Related work in general relativity includes recent developments in black hole formation and the stability analysis of solutions with non-zero cosmological constant.

The Workshop will bring together leading researchers in string theory and gravity having common interests in fluid/gravity correspondence. The aim is to exchange ideas, present current work and foster possible collaborations in the field.

The Workshop poster is here.

The Workshop will take place from Monday 16 to Friday 20th February 2015 at the premises of the Aristotle University Research Dissemination Centre.

The research project is co-financed by Greece and the European Union (European Social Fund  – ESF) within the framework of the NSRF 2007-2013 (Operational Program “Education and Lifelong Learning”- Call «EXCELLENCE II”)
